Sitecore Personalization

Personalization in Sitecore is a method for presenting relevant content to users based on a set of characteristics. There are two basic types of personalization: rule-based and CRM-based. The former adjusts content for specific groups or segments of users based on characteristics such as previous behavior, demographic, geography, channel, and device, while the latter displays variants of content to specific users based on the information stored in a company’s CRM system.

What content can be personalized with Sitecore?

Marketers can personalize content on a Sitecore website by:

• showing, hiding, or adjusting content

• displaying different content based on a user’s geographic location

• hiding a registration form from users who have already filled out the form 

• changing the text of page components based on the user’s referring site
